Week 12 of 12
Business Longevity Blueprint
10 min read
The final week is about treating play as an operation: contemporaneous records, clean separation of funds, documented expenses, and a file that stands up without you narrating it.
Contemporaneous records
Records made at the time carry weight that reconstructions do not. Dates, properties, machine identifiers, amounts in and out, and supporting documents are the expected elements of a gambling log.
Sealing each entry as it is made, with its timestamp, location and photo fingerprint, is what makes the log verifiable rather than merely written down.
Expenses and structure
Travel, rooms and meals may or may not be deductible depending on how your activity is characterised, and that characterisation is a professional judgement, not a setting in an app.
Document every expense with a receipt and a purpose regardless. You cannot claim what you did not record, and the decision about what is claimable is made later, with your accountant.
The annual cycle
Quarterly: check the tax position and hold the reserve. Annually: pull the year-end pack — session CSV, tax summary PDF, handpay register and record-integrity certificate — and hand it over as one folder.
That folder, produced on demand and provably unaltered, is the whole point of the twelve weeks.
This week on the floor
- · Generate the year-end pack once, even mid-year, and read it as your accountant would.
- · Confirm your ledger seal is intact and note the entry count.
- · Book a conversation with an accountant who has handled gambling clients before.
If it is not in the record, it did not happen.
